Tom Brady got candid about how his fame has impacted his children.

On the latest episode of the SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray,” the retired NFL player, 46, and guest star John Legend, 44, both opened up about how their children deal with having famous parents.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner admitted that his kids have a different experience from his childhood growing up as “a normal kid.”

“We have unique challenges for our own kids. We try to teach them the right values and so forth,” Brady said.

As much as fans would approach him when he’s with his family in public, Brady says his children are his priority.

“I really make it clear to people, ‘Sorry, I’m just out here enjoying my time with my family,’” Brady said.

He added that while he enjoys supporting his children at their events, he also feels guilty for overshadowing them.

“And whether I’m at a game for my son — and I love doing that — but, you know, a lot of times the attention gets shifted to us,” Brady said. “I don’t want to take away from their moments because this is an important part of their life and their maturation.”

The 46-year-old also shared that he wants his children to understand that “everything comes at a cost.”

“The reason we get to go on a lot of fun vacations and you guys go to schools and have people to help — we have to deal with some things that are different than everyone else,” he explained.

Brady has three children. He shares son Jack, 16, with actor Bridget Moynahan, and two children Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, with his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.
