Angelina Jolie’s brother makes a rare comment about their relationship years after their infamous kiss

Angelina Jolie’s brother has shared a rare insight into his relationship with his famous sister, decades after they infamously shared kisses.

James Haven, 52, typically lives life out of the spotlight but many will remember him kissing the Maleficent actress, 48, in a shocking pop culture moment.

Since then, James has not spoken publicly about his sister or their relationship – until now.

‘You’re a big part of your nieces and nephews lives, I’m sure they’re like you’re kids in some way,’ said the host of 90who10 podcast, Jessica Entner.

She asked James about how watching Angelina’s life play out in the public eye makes him feel, hinting at her bitter divorce with Brad Pitt.

‘That’s where it all started, it started with the protection of her and [then of her children, my nieces and nephews,’ James explained. ‘Those are massively formative years, they’re becoming young adults in their early 20s.

‘That’s so crazy thinking that but yeah, I think it’s just very natural [to feel protective] and I just want to be there. Very much like my mum.’

James continued that whenever he is ‘blessed’ to spend time with his family, he makes sure to be completely invested and present – even switching his phone off.

He added: ‘[It’s] a quality I got from my mum, even though cell phones were not as prevalent as they are now, but back to that idea of her always being like; “You are the focus.”

‘I want to be there for them – or for her – whatever she’s going thought. We have very mutual interests, especially if it’s focuses on how to help kids or stuff like that.’
